Pep Guardiola has admitted that he "struggles" to see Kalvin Phillips playing for Manchester City before the end of the season.

This season, the ex-Leeds midfielder has played 89 minutes of Premier League football, and 36 minutes in the Champions League. In total, he has made 29 appearances for the treble winners.

Phillips remains a member of Gareth Southgate's England squad, winning 31 caps for his country, but a lack of minutes between now and the end of the season may see him fall out of contention ahead of Euro 2024. As a result, he has been linked with a potential move to Juventus in Serie A.
Speaking ahead of City's fixture against Luton Town this weekend, Guardiola told reporters: "I don’t know what will happen to Kalvin Phillips. He has good character, I’m so sorry I have not picked him. I visualise my team and select a team and I struggle to see him."
One has to think that he desperately needs a move. He is well behind Rodri in the pecking order at City, and needs to keep playing if he is to be involved at the European Championships next summer.
