Harry Kane has seen another accolade fall out of reach, with the Bayern Munich striker beaten to the Bundesliga Player of the Season award.

Major silverware continues to prove elusive, with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid dashing domestic and continental dreams for Kane in 2023-24. He is currently nursing an injury, ahead of Euro 2024, but is expected to be back in the trophy hunt next season.
Leverkusen will be looking to block his path once more in the Bundesliga, with Xabi Alonso’s side completing the current campaign unbeaten. One of their star performers, Florian Wirtz, has been recognised as the top-performing player in 2023-24 – with 11 goals and 12 assists posted in the German top tier.
Wirtz has been linked with leading sides across Europe for some time, with there still plenty of potential to be unlocked in his game at 21 years of age. It remains to be seen whether he will be competing with Kane and Co for top honours in 2024-25.
